got this 1 this morning. the last pic shows how it looked some 7 hrs a go.
the listing stated the knife had the initials AD scratched on the tang near the makers mark. I don't see it. but it was ruffed up pretty good some how. it cleaned up quicker than I anticipated. my initials are AD . it was calling for me . lol the bidding stayed low on the knife. wasn't even contested on my offer. I bet I would be now after a little elbow grease.

decora seemed to lead the way for the art deco erra that took hold in the 50s and 60s. they were producing pretty knives long before this 1. hence, their name. decora

these knives don't seem to be very expensive right now, but they are Solingen steel and real beauties from our past. perhaps its the plastic handles, I dunno, but lots of other well known makers with higher price expectations used plastic just as well, so that's of little relevance. atleast to me , it is.

the knife is in really nice condition now, and makes quite the conversation pc for the folks that see it. absolutely stunning.

Nice clean-up and restoration, Andy. What did you say you use on your blades? [;>)

I use a 240 grit belt paper to start, then a 600 grit wet or dry paper to finish.
the belt paper stays put together really well. you can apply the pressure you need and actually see some results w/o using a ruffer coarse.

I had planned to polish with a 1000 grit, but the 600 looks pretty good. I still might later.

thanks every one for the love...
