My brother found this chair in an estate sale. It was in pretty good shape however the original fabric was torn and it was stuffed with horsehair. The horse here could not be salvaged chair was recovered using new materials. I have no other history. Most unusual chair. Lovely and unigue.
Any more info on this chair? I have this same chair with different upholstery and would like to know too!
Hi there...what you can do it google 'Antique Eastlake Furniture' (without the quote marks) you might find something similar. Who ever recovered that did a really good job although in my opinion, the material was probably a tapestry type design and suited the chair. It's still very nice and love the shape!
I think this probably is a Slipper Chair.

A Corner Chair is as it is called - a chair with a shape that fits into a corner.

The style is traditional with no style attributes to make it Eastlake at all. Eastlake has always particular carvings which this chair does not, I looks in the range of the carving to be around the early 1940's. Very nice short chair.
