I collect Heron Glass. Made in Ulverston, Cumbria, Uk, which made all sorts of glass ornaments from early 1990s to 2006. I often used to pop into their showrooms and bought bits and pieces from them. These are some of my mushrooms. I especially like the red one, which I spotted on the counter just before they closed, and which I think are pretty rare. The glass is very similar to John Ditchfield glass ( Glasform).

They are beautiful Adele, gorgeous iridescence showing so well on the caps.
It must have been fantastic to be close to the shop to look and pick. It's a pity so many glass studios are gone - I think the cost of running a furnace 24/7 has killed many.

Yes, I think it was the cost of running the furnace that closed it down. I think the studio may have started earlier than 1990s too, when I think about it, I will have to check the facts more carefully!

Yours is a Ditchfield mushroom. Mine are the cheaper version of glasform. I only have one very small glasform mushroom. I did read somewhere that the man who started Heron glass trained at the Ditchfield studio.
