From my resent road trip to Tucson in Gila Bend Az. This was where I new I had to stop. Had driven by it in 2001 and knew I had to get back there some day. The original Space Age Diner burned down in 1998. The new one was quickly rebuilt. Currently it is neat and clean with good food. Could use some more choices for the burgers. It will improve with age, it is still a bit bright and shiny for a roadside attraction.
Very cool I'd stop by for a burger.
Looks awesome - needs patina you say!

Thank you very much RamboJoe. I'll have to check that out next time I am there.
Maybe its unusual (or maybe not?) but I've gotta love that BEST WESTERN HOTELS would choose to lend their brand name to this property, the 'quirkiness' of which no doubt pre-dated them. Hopefully there's some semblance of the original still remaining, besides the diner...?
wonder if the ship still fly's ..A/O...what.....lol,... B/W.... bed bugs ... come to mind...lol
I have seen the motel. Perhaps I'll stay there sometime but I am thinking the Clown Motel first.
