    I don't know about all of you, but I have fussy animals. I've tried steel feeding bowls, ceramic feeding bowls, terracotta feeding bowls...and they were either too high, too deep, not wide enough or the wrong color (lol). I was in a local thrift shop on Wednesday and found these three very nice, vintage, lead crystal bowls. 1950s/1960s, I think. Manufacturer - not a clue. Possibly French. There is quite a bit of normal wear on them, but they are heavy and perfectly formed. Measures 5 inches in diameter and a curved 1 1/4 inch depth.

    At 90 cents each, I took a punt.

    GOAL!

    No more leaving food in the bowl/on the floor because the bowl was the wrong shape/depth/color. My greedy mob sucks up every scrap now.

    Thanks for looking/loving, CW friends!

      The only fussy eater in our family is me!..... LOL ..... The Mrs. isn't quite as accommodating as you, though..... throws a hunk-o-meat onto a chipped and cracked plate and growls, "Now eat!"..... LOL ..... [;>)

      Nevada - you're lucky she just doesn't stab the meat with a pitchfork and throw it over the wall to you....hahaha! :-}}}}}}

      You may be on to something. I was in the animal shop today and they had a crystal bowl on a pedestal for their dogs to drink from. I said something about it and they laughed but they are older women and dogs in a vintage shop. I'll have to ask them about it next week. My mom's min pin used to freak out over her bowl too. I hope they stick with the crystal for you. They just know you have the best stuff. ;)

      OGF - I tried everything. My 11 yr old Miniature Keeshond is a terrible fusspot. If the bowl is too shallow, he pushes the food over the edge. Too deep/wrong shape and he just leaves it. This "hoity toity" dish is just right! Same with my two cats. Now they eat every morsel under their noses. My Whippet, on the other hand, will eat food out of a paper bag....and, this is the first time I've heard about crystal dog bowls on pedestals...!
