I've had her as long as I can remember. Before that she was in our home when I was a child. She belonged to my grandmother. Resembles a chalk doll but is not chalk. She is of a porous substance. The third photo shows that the material has disintegrated some. Again, not much info. Would be pleased with more.

She's pretty cute. Looks 1920's/30's to me. Plaster maybe?

Chinaheads, thanks. Yes, you are likely correct. Pretty sure she is plaster. Also, regarding the soldier dolls--I added some pictures to the original post.

Very pretty, and I agree with chinaheads, the artstyle is very typical of the 1920's and 1930's, (also possibly the 1910's)

This doll is very reminiscent of the "Splash me Dolls" - It might be a Kewpie Doll. but its hard to say for certain because of the damage.

This article might be of interest: http://bawdybisques.blogspot.no/p/splash-me-dolls.html

Thanks., Binary Reflex. I read the article and have been doing some research. I would love to find a doll like this one. She is similar to the kewpies and splash me dolls. However, herface and hairstyle are more subdued and prim. Her long sleeved green sweater with a yellow stripe and matching green knee socks are much more modest than the swim suits on other splash me dolls. She has a bun on back of her head and her painted face is more stoic than the childish kewpie faces.
