This beautiful, really Art Deco style silver pendant/necklace I got from my friend. She got it from her grandmother. The pendant is made from 935 silver with marcasites and amber orange glass stones (don't know what it is exactly). The chain also is made from silver. Marked 835 with some head in crown. Don't know the exact year, but guess it was made in 1920's in Germany.
Beautiful. The jewels are probably Austrian crystals.
.935 silver is used in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Thank You, Efesgirl! :) Here in Latvia, where I live, we had imported a lot of things from Germany.
This is a wonderful piece! I love the design with the Marcasite and the dark Orange stones are the same color as Madiera Citrines, my favorite color :)
They are faceted, and that really makes them stand out with that wonderful color. I love the bail design too, I bet this looks amazing in the sunlight :)
My son's naval ship, The James E. Williams, made a stop in Latvia on their way home to Virginia. He and some others on the ship volunteered to help to build something there, I can't remember what it was they did. And, he also went into one of the shops there and bought me a set of nesting dolls. I have them up on my page here, I love them. He took pictures so he could show me while on leave after they got back home, it is a beautiful place. He really liked it there :)
