I picked this vase up from Goodwill the other day. The odd thing was there were two. At first glance they seemed almost identical but a closer look showed marked differences. The biggest difference was the tiny gold label that ID'd the other vase as "made in China" Then there was the construction. The China made vase was lopsided and had a thicker uneven clear bottom. Just generally sloppy in execution. This one however looked so much neater. The crimp marked ruffle with the cased edge. The spatter design was more colorful and varied and the bottom was totally different. It's been lightly ground on it's high spots so that it sits straight and up right. Little details that make me think this is a superior piece from a good maker. I should have bought the other one just for comparison. I have seen pieces like this by Kralik. So did my eye not deceive me and lead me to score another treasure ? -Mike-
