These beautiful Asian Unbrella's have been in my attic since the 80's and have been through over 30 years of extreme heat and deadly cold. But are still in great shape. In the last photo you'll see holes in the parchment and that's from me just before I took the picture. At my home right now, in my attic it's about 85 degrees and these Unbrella's are very delicate and I shoved my fingers through the parchment.
The largest, starting in the first photo is 48" across then the next is 42" then 40" and the last 36". Hand painted on parchment that feels like wax paper and the Ratan or Bamboo stems are lacquered.
I don't know how to categorize these other than Asian. Any idea's?
Are there any labels on the handles? I own a parasol similar which has a label, the strings on mine are unfortunately broken. Yours look magnificent!!! :)
Hi Katherinescollections, which one are you talking about? The first one has a label that I can read, it says Unbrella's factory Fuzhou China. On the third I can only read the made in China and the last I can't read that label at all.
They are beautiful.
Whenever I see people here in Australia using these beautiful parasols to shade themselves I think how smart they are. Wide, portable shade and beauty all in one!
I agree racer4four.
