    Help please in identifying this Japanese Satsuma vase height 34cm
    Opening 11cm Width at widest point 54cm marking engraved on the base appears to be an unusual 3 or maybe a backstamp.

      Because it is unmarked it would be considered Satsuma style rather than Satsuma. Also, for the same reason it would most likely have been intended for domestic use since it does not carry the required export markings. From your photos it appears to be very well done and high quality porcelain.

      Thank you for your knowledge wexval do you think the small engraving in the middle of the base looking something similar to number 3 or maybe a signature has any indicator of a manufacturer.

      I downloaded the base image and with drastic adjustment can see what might be a three or an M. There could be more, but I can't make it out. Another photo of the base with sharp focus might help.
