I have those quite a few years, half of them were hidden in the corner of drawer and forgotten about. The mineral specimen on the second photo was bought in a charity shop, the pendant too - they are possibly from Argentina as the sphere. I read somewhere the banded form of this mineral comes from that country. The crystal cluster (ebay buy) on the third pic was mined in Peru, Morococha District.
Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral. In pure form (rare) it is typically rose-red colour, but impurities cause the shades of pink to pale brown.
That's great thanks Martika.
It looks like the beautiful lump in your hand is not quite as glossy so maybe they just haven't polished my piece a lot.
Yes you are right, lumps aren't glossy, only the polished pieces and the crystals. Sorry for the confusion :)
It's a beautiful stone and comes in those lovely colours.
Thanks for IDing my stone and introducing me to the world of rhodochrosite!
Thank you racer4four. I just sometimes talk or write before thinking, lol. I know it's not a good thing. Thank you, nutsabotas6 too for your kind comment and everybody for love and stopping by. I don't make jewellery ( I wish!!!), this is how I bought them.
What a beautiful stone, martika!!! :)
Thank you Katherine for your kind comment and to everybody for the loves! I'm not a big fan of pink colour, but this stone is one of my faves.
Interesting, thanks for the information.
So beautiful!
Thank you Peasejean55 and CrystalPelous for your comments - appreciated!!!
Very very pretty. Just don't stick them back in a drawer. LOL
Thank you OGF. Sometimes I rediscover my own things - it's like finding them again!!!
