My mom's late husband was a house painter in the Chicago area. One of his customers did not want this chair (there are 4 of them) and so he brought them home. They are intricately carved with cane seats and have a mark underneath saying, LIX. The seat height is 18" from floor and the total height is about 40" tall. I've been looking online and in books but have seen nothing exactly like them. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I have been looking for months for answers for my chair as well. I found it in a new alley? I've sanded and oiled it but am afraid to go any further until I have more background. Chippendale style is my amateur guess? But as to a time period???
