Gothic Painting?? Please Help. .

Hello! I have the same story most have I suppose, as I do not not know anything about paintings. I am most certainly not saying I have a Renior on my hands, either. (Did I even spell that right)?
Anyhow, I have seen many works of art but I have never come across something like this. It's small, roughly 5×7, I believe oil paint. There is no signature at all anywhere.
I was helping a woman clean and separate her stuff for an upcoming move and she had given this to me. She was also the owner of a reputable antique dealer where I live. Years ago she just shut it down and put everything in storage.
Some of the paint is flaking and the canvas had probably gotten moist because where the paint is flaking in very small pieces it is also a little warped just a bit.
I find it stunning. I'm just not sure what to do with it. If anything?
It has flat staples on the back if that helps at all.
