The California Glass Insulator Company existed from 1912-1916. In 1916 it was destroyed by a flood.
I am sure many of you have seen the LA River which is a huge concrete channel with a little stream that goes down the middle. It ends in Long Beach which is where the California Glass Company used to be. The reason the LA River exists is that were huge floods that did a lot of damage . This would be runoff from the mountains and hills surrounded Los Angeles. The LA River was constructed to channel the runoff to the ocean. All this because the California Glass Company was destroyed by a flood.
I believe this to be the CD 162 type. It is clear with a slight green tinge to it which is normal due to iron added to the glass.
Thank you very much brunswick.

It MIGHT (I'm not sure, especially since it looks a bit thin) actually be a CD 162.1. I know, they made it so easy on us. LOL. I love the colour and see you're into insulators now.
Yes SpiritBear I was thinking might be/probably 162 but wasn't quite sure. I started out just wanting California insulators and then I run into this and run into that. A 100 yo piece for under $5 isn't too bad. The McLaughlin was a bit more.
