CD 121 refers to a style of insulator that would be made by several companies. This one was made by McLaughlin Glass within 1920 -1935. It was another California based companies.
The unusual point about this piece is the dark green color. The normal colors for insulators was clear or aqua but this one is a dark green color. The reason for unusual colors is that insulator companies would use left over glass. In this case McLaughlin bought a truck load of old gin bottles and made them into insulators.

The company, which formed in 1920 to begin making insulators, bottles, bowls, etc., made several colours of insulator. A lot of people collect this particular company for that reason. They went down due to lawsuit in 1935. He began later glass plants in the 1940s-1950s and again in 1972, on a much smaller scale. His last insulator was one never meant to be used, but collected.
Neat find and probably older than you were lead to believe.

I stopped collecting in the mid 70's and everything I have has been boxed up for years, but I'm pretty sure I have a dozen or so of these.
