The brooch on the right was given to me by my grandmother, it was her mother's. The brooch on the left I found in the dollar bin at a thrift store. I thought that it had the same mechanisms as my granny's brooch, and it does, same rivet hinge, C catch, and pendant loop. Looks like the new one got a polishing and is missing oxidization where it needs it. Granny's brooch measures a hair shy of 1 1/2" and new brooch measures 1 5/8" x 1 7/8". All in all, a good day. I have no idea who made these.
Very nice!!! Granny's brooch has marks on the outside of the C clasp, but I can't read them just looking at the photo.
OOPS - the brooch on the left in the photo....
I wish Efesgirl, but it is uneven oxidization.
nutsabotas6, I am good. I should say very good, I take lots of vitamins, minerals and turkey tail mushrooms-- and my health is improving.
Thanks for the loves, brunswick, nutsabotas6, Windwalker, Efesgirl, aura!
Darn - looks just like marks.....
I think your beautiful brooches would match nicely my earrings - LOL
freiheit, which earrings?????
I checked your page, but no earrings?
Emme, I probably forgot to attach the correct link. I am also having problems with my e-mail. I try again: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/183403-835-silver-and-garnet-vintage-earrings
