These were bought in Germany many years ago by my children's father. He traveled over seas working on the national geographic ships. I do not know anything about them except he bought them while in Germany when he was there and brought back to states for me a souvenir. The Biggest one plays a tune . The bottom is wood where the music box is but the inside is not wood, it is like normal ceramic stein . I am assuming ceramic. there are 5 of them and they each tell a story that follows the next stein with pictures of women, men, animals, etc. is what it looks like to me. the tops are either gold ,silver or brass i am not really sure i have never cleaned them since we have them in fear i mess them up or break them. they have been in the attic for so many years. I would love to know the story behind these. Sure wish I could have taken more detailed pics to send but an only send 4 on here. their really in near mint condition. just dusty. Thank you so much for your time. Oh another thing, they all have that yellowish paint looking mark on bottom except the music box one but i would probably think it has it also but under music box. and something engraved into the ceramic.
some writing on them are these words:
Auf der Alm other side of this one says: do ist es schon
another says : zeit, wind frau und gluck
other side of this stien says : verandern sich im augenbuck
Nice Collection..
Thank you.. Hoping someone can tell me a little history behind it :)
