Cornell David Ahern's medals and accommodations throuoght his military service in Korea and Vietnam. These belong to my husband's late grandfather. If anyone can tell me what these medals mean, it would be greatly appreciated :)
Left to right on Medals: Legion of Merit (LM), Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), Army Commendation Medal (ArCOM), National Defense Service Medal (NDSM), Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal for Korea, Vietnam Campaign Medal.
The oak leafs represent one additional award (each).
The "US" are officers collar insignia as are the crossed cannons and missile. The cannons/missile show that he was an Air Defense Artillery (ADA) officer. The back insignia shows that he probably served on a General Staff for a period of time.

Thank you Scott. That means the world to me and my husband's even more grateful. You really know military history! Do you know what the little star on the Vietnam Service Medal means?
Do you mean Colonel, the rank? Or was his first name Cornell?
The stars represent different designated campaign periods.
