I bought this lovely old oil painting on canvas today. There are issues due to age such as crackling but I liked it anyway. On the back of the frame is Japanese writing that is on the left and right which translates to:
"Congratulations Esso Standard"
From
"the Tucker Corporation" or
From "the Naniwa Tanker Corporation", maybe
Hmmmm....
I'm guessing this painting is 1920s.
