    Hello everyone.

Adore this ring even though the cameo is worn very smooth! I was told it is Angel skin?

It is rose gold and has the 15ct Australian hallmark showing the hanging sheep, also know as fleece. It does not have the maker's stamp unfortunately.

This mark was used 1889 to 1920.

"Hanging Sheep", LOL. You're right, Fleece, or more exactly, Golden Fleece is the proper name, with the origin in the Greek mythology, the story of Jason and the Argonauts.

This Hanging Sheep/Golden Fleece design is used by Brooks Brothers as their logo, but have to wonder if some other entity may also have used it at one time.

I cannot tell for sure which of the 2 materials that are routinely referred to as angel skin your cameo is, but this page may help you to decide:

Hello cameosleuth, thanks for your interest in this cameo......

In this case the "fleece" is referring to the Australian caratage of the gold, which is the mark for 15ct gold, ........see picture 3 for explanation. It is not referring to the maker's mark........

Thanks for the link.....I don't think it will be easy for me to identify mine.....gosh there are so many variations aren't there LOL.....I am just happy it is a cameo!!!

I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on this, very kind of you, thanks very much.
