It's amazing what you can find for 50p! This little plate, or maybe saucer, as it is very small for a plate (4.75"), could date back to the 1830s. The actual maker is not marked, just the pattern, which is Canova. I have found similar attributed to T. Mayer, Longport. It is brown Transferware.
