Hi everyone! Wish I could visit more often. I got out to an auction a week ago and found this awesome door knocker, lets just say I got it EG's style. I finally listed it late last night, and when I woke this morning...Sold! (I still don't know the maker and looked everywhere but here)! My buyer is almost finished, in the 10th month of renovating a home from 1855 and was ecstatic to find it. She even sent me a photo of the home and will send another when the knocker is installed.

    Here's what the listing said:

An antique ball in hand door knocker with a round strike plate made of solid brass. Covering the wrist of this door knocker is a 'Benjamin Franklin' style suit cuff and there is a signet ring on the middle finger. This piece is an architectural salvaged original antique and signed in the palm of the hand. The hand itself pivots on a solid hinge type brass pin for up and down striking movement while 'knocking'. The condition of this piece is excellent and has perfect patina. Nothing is broken although I feel the "set screw" should be replaced and you will need one additional one as the original may have been 'stuck' in the original door. Overall, this is very well made and probably has another 100 years of use left in it.

Size: (measured as if installed) 4.5" long x 2" wide x 2.5" depth.
    The striker measures 1.5" across
Will fit a 2.75" thick door. Easy to adjust to any size.
    Heavy at 2 pounds.

You could even get creative and add this to a frame without the glass, securing it to the wall anywhere in the home, allowing it to be used inside!

    Just thought I'd share ;)

Hope to be back soon! I've got a new project I'd like to share...very exciting!

Wow, this is rare I imagine, love that it has a door knob with it.

Hi Phil! That piece does look deceiving in this pic. The single one goes on the inside of the door and holds the knocker with a set screw. The other one is the striker, so what you see from the inside is two round pieces about 5 inches from each other. Does that make sense? Kind of hard to describe.

I've got to run for the moment...time to drive Miss Daisy, but I'll be back!
