I recently acquired these vintage ashtrays from a few different sources.
The first is a 4.25 inch (10.5Cm) in diameter smoke glass colored ashtray promoting The Eastern Steamship Lines of the USA. Eastern became defunct in the 1950s.
Next is seen an ashtray from The Russian Team Room of New York City. It is of clear glass and is 3.75 (9.2Cm) in diameter. I believe that this establishment still exists.
Third is an ashtray from The Coney Island restaurants of Pottsville, PA. It is 3 by 3 inches (9Cm), and is of clear glass. Hot dogs are their specialty, as can be deduced from the word "Island" superimposed over a hot dog in a bun! Happily, these two store, under the same aegis, are still operating, and doing well!
Lastly we see an ashtray promoting The Ridon Glass Company of Wilkes-Barré, PA.It also is 3 by 3 (9Cm), and also features clear glass. This concern is no longer in business, and from the 5 digit phone number, perhaps this item dates from the 40s-50s.
Thank you for viewing these vestiges of smoking and old time advertising.
