Not much to say on this. It has a copyright 1914 on it, but that's all I know (and that the game is amusing to me, as I've played it a few times in my life.)
I just want to know if anyone can tell me the age of the piece?
Thrift store find today. Fragile but intact.
lol oh ya..........
If it says 1914, that would be my guess. The font looks about right for the period, too.
Saalfield Publishig Company Akron, Ohio and printed in the U.S.A. with a copyright date 1914.
Windwalker, I last played it at my nephew's party several years back.
Celiene, a copyright or patent date we can only say would not be seen more than a year before the year listed (some items were made just before a copyright date, but have it on them for when they're marketed that year). Also, they can go on into the future. Example: Patent May 2nd, 1893, is seen on some Hemingray-made insulators up into the 1960s.
Dizzy Dave, that was very quick. Are you sure it is them, though, who made this?
Yes, Im sure it is by Saalfeld
Here is one in blue, they came in a few colors. http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/1914-huge-fabric-pin-tail-donkey-game-415612750
Quickest-solved mystery I've put up on here. Thank you kindly. :)

I believe Yours is No. 1
I was wondering if it were a first make as they left off the company name.
Thanks again!
Yes, Very common they would put logo on later issues, this was a Hot Game back in the day!!
It will likely find a poster frame, acid-free backing, and be put in storage till I find a collector or place to hang it-- it's too large and out of my collecting interest, I'm afraid, to add to the permanent museum.
