As I have told you before, I am getting the occasional antique things that I like. Especially for me sad time I have to lay hands on to know this in detail exported ivory figurine.
This statue itself is 20 cm high with the cut plateu of wood approx. 23 cm. The total weight is 410 grams.
Ivory is happy to trade in many countries. But this ancient figurine was made around 1900. It is quite yellow. I have the seller got proof that this really is antique Ivory according rules of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) prohibited the trade of ivory in 1990 i like the fact that the market today is prohibited.
Because I have no sense of ivory I am looking going well and came to the conclusion that this figurine is indeed made of ivory. Finely carved in the smallest details, colored hair and eyes.

My wife (who is Japanese ~ from Japan ~ not Japanese-American) says the lady is definitely Chinese. The hair, the clothes ~ Chinese style, not Japanese. [;>)

Chinese. I am very doubtful that this is from 1900. Stylistically it looks like it's from 1980s, which means it is definitely not saleable.
