Celiene
(71 items)
He's a biggie! 8.5" long. 6" Tall, 4" wide. He'll hold your soap and three toothbrushes. He's born in the 70s as you can tell by his lovely combo of lime green, with several shades of orange spatters! Oh - and let's not ignore that Pepto Bismol Pink mouth. (Why is there no Hippo in the animal category?? And no category for Kitch!)
You can see these on the net, but none so elegantly painted. I have to wonder if these could be purchased as blanks to color as you saw fit? I just took the felt off hi bottom, and it's just signed simply "Mae". So yeah these were craft projects you could make at home, or in studios.
This is so cute! I think a bar of soap in there would make quite a mess, though. Pens and note paper, lol~!!
Think it's meant to hold the toothpaste tube in the mouth behind the teeth, Celiene. I've seen these hippos many times before but never in this color combination, love that wild decor! :)
I never thought of toothpaste!
Of course it's for toothpaste! Makes perfect sense. I LOVE this one - but it has tenholes! Someone is calling it a flower frog! It would have to be for fake flowers, because there are holes on the bottom- but what WILD 1970s colors!
