I'm calling this Vaseline Glass because it is more of the yellow color than the traditional green of what I typically call depression glass. I don't really know if there is technically a difference or if the terms are interchangeable. You say tomato.... I've always referred to the yellowish glass as vaseline glass and old green glowy as depression glass. Anyway.

Scored this plate recently and it is really big 12" across. It has a wonderful scene of a cabin, a man , a woman, and a stream with mountains and trees in the background. I've never came across anything like this and think it is really cool. I don't know the manufacturer or its age. If anyone else does I would love to know more. Just a really cool piece. Thanks for taking look.

a couple references name your water tray as 'Basketweave' by unknown maker c1885; tho' there is speculation as to several possible makers there is no definitive attribution. Vaseline is a fairly recent collector name for yellow uranium glass; EAPG manufacturers originally called this color 'Canary'. Many 0ther pieces in this pattern line are the basket weave motif without the cabin scene.

Such great information Cakes! I had no clue this was called a water plate or the pattern name. Many thanks for the info. Always so fun to learn about.
