This was one of the first pieces of pottery that I bought years ago. On the front is this cherry sitting on this white background with black showing through. On the back is a sticker "Mashiko in Japan" as well as a hand written sticker '7'' rnd plt NUKA glaze "PERSIMMON" by KENMOKU R-02'.

I have not been able to figure out anything about this piece.

Thanks to the helpful people in that group, I now have some additional information on this piece.

There is a shop named "Kenmoku Mingei Ten" in Mashiko. There is also a kiln called Kenmoku Tougei, with a cafe attached to it.

Also, that is not a cherry, it is actually a persimmon. I had never thought of that. I always thought it was referring to the color. Sure enough I googled a persimmon on the tree and it looks just like a cherry, just bigger!

Two persimmon varieties are eaten. One looks like a little pumpkin. The other looks rounder with a pointy bottom. This kind is massaged and dried, and over time, it becomes sweet, and the sugar rises to the surface, resulting in white sugar crystals that resemble the white glaze on this plate.
