I purchased this Marksman Medal in a grouping with some German WWI items that I just thought were interesting. This is the only item I kept. It looks to be Bavarian and from pre WWI as I've only been able to locate what looks like this crest and wreath under the Kaiser Wilhelm era. I have been coming up empty handed as far as who it could have been given to and an exact time period. The Lanyard it is on is Royal Blue and Silver and in pretty poor condition in my eyes, but perhaps it is good as far as wear and tear during wartime etc. . The medal itself seems to be of tin or a another light metal and the backing is handsewn on and is some type of felt.

Very nice piece, though I can only say that I agree it's Bavarian and comes from the Imperial era
