My spoon has been in the family for years. All mine now and it's a special little tactile spoon. I'd just love to know more about it and it's marks. I think it's a tea spoon and silver. In need of a clean I guess, but it would not be the same!
The marks are at the top J
Then below Anchor Lion & F

Made in England.
Lion Passant means the spoon is sterling silver.
The Anchor means it was made in Birmingham.
The date letter *looks* like 1800-1808.
I didn't find a registration for a silversmith with just the letter "J".

It looks to be a caddy spoon for measuring/ moving dry tea.
The anchor is for Birmingham. Lion is sterling mark.
The "f" is the date letter. If you look online you can find information in order to date the spoon.
I believe the "J" is a maker mark-- can probably find that online as well.

I'm struggling to find a maker mark with just 'J' alone? Possibly as efesgirl quotes I could email the Birmingham registry office.

Still no listing for just a "J" as a maker's mark. I looked here:

Right, it`s 1905 - 1906.
Incompletely struck maker`s mark ``J dot something``. Unless the same or similar tea caddy spoon with the same set of marks is encountered elsewhere, we`ll probably never know who the maker was.
