This trunk belonged to a friend of ours, she got it when she was 10. She died at 84. She got it from a sea captain that traveled in Indo-neasa and China. He kept his things in it. He was a friend of her ship-designing father.
It appears to be hand carved, the carving is about 3/4 inch deep, the lock is brass. Does anyone have am idea of the value of this piece?
