I purchased this recently at a Salvation Army. I have always been drawn to hutches and buffets as they seem like such versatile pieces of furniture. At first I wasn't sure I liked the color as it seemed very dark. However, after some cleaning it lightened up a bit and I was able to get rid of the water rings. The next step is to wax fill the chips and wax it. It is covered in scratches and has a couple gouges. Most of the scratches became hard to see after I used Howard's on it. I really like the glass bottle window look and the piece feels very well made.
I was not able to find any manufacture identification on it. The only markings I found were "Rust. Dist." written on the individual pieces, I assume by Salvation Army to keep all the pieces together. Can anyone give me any information on who made this or when this was made?
Thank you.
