Hello everyone.
This little ring is so cute! as is the Tasmanian jeweller's box it came in, don't know if it is the original retailer's box, but I love old jewellery boxes too.
The ring is 9ct gold made by Australian maker Willis and Sons with the hallmark: Unicorn head 9 W.
This is the first expanding shank ring that I have seen! It fits my pinky finger, so I have not tried to force it onto my ring finger.
I found an advert for an expanding ring from 1917......even though it has a swastika on it the shank is the same as mine, so I am prepared to call my ring from this time frame.

Thanks kyratango, yes it is interesting isn't it! I have seen bangles with similar to this expanding section....and the little box is gorgeous. Thanks again for taking the time to comment and love.
Your time frame appears to be correct. This ad from E.F. Hodgkinson shows him working in the clock business in 1915:
