A bit of blown and moulded glass from Hoya Crystal.
Looking at the label I would say 1960s, and it's a different style to their later work.

The dark green base has been blown, is thin walled and has a flame finished lip. The lid appears blown also and has had the quirky moulded bird added later.

I've seen a few of these around and they also came in a white base with clear lid.

Unless someone with cultural knowledge (NevadaBlades?) can advise otherwise this seems a general hold all bowl.

Width 10cm height with lid 17cm

I'm sorry, Karen, but I'm not as culturally refined or knowledgeable as you think I am!..... lol..... so your assumption that this is a general hold all bowl is as good a guess as mine,..... actually better than mine, because your guess, at least, is an educated one! [;>)))

It's very elegant, Karen, love that lovely frosted glass ornament on the lid. :) I've looked and looked and looked at it, the only thing I can suggest as a use would be as part of serving pieces for something small, perhaps elegant barware? The lid being domed and clear, the base smoky and thin, seems like the sort of fancy thing for holding cocktail olives or some such little tidbits. It's a beauty for sure! :)

Really nice ... The way that the lid fits over that base ... a new colour.

      Just fabulous!!!

Sorry to weigh you down with responsibility Blade lol - just asking!
OK - general hold all, lolly jar, nut box....whatever we like. Thanks for replying :)

See there's an idea Katherine!! Thanks!
Olives for a martini.....or a small ice cup even.
It's quite cool isn't it - the elegance as you said so well and the almost comic bird. I love the Japanese; design mores seem to be made to be stepped over for them!

Thanks Vet - the lid is an interesting shape too don't you think?

Thanks Phil. I agree, a candy dish suits well.

If only it was yours Sean and it was in one of your photo shoots it would look soooo modern and cool!
