I think my grandads lamp is a small late petal glass lamp, font diam 10cm base diam 12cm ht 25cm.
I cannot move the burner assembley to refill it.As you may see there is a lot of petina built up on the brass collar.
Any ideas how I can free up the burner or collar would be much appreciated.

You can try penetrating solvent or oil and let it soak into the threads. Sometimes nothing works. It's actually verdigris (brass oxidation) and not patina that you see. The collar on this lamp is actually a replacement and a European one at that. N. American burners don't fit too well on these collars which also explains the difficulty in removing it. Good Luck and welcome to CW. RER(Bob)
