It measures 28 1/4' high x 9 1/4" diameter. Very rare, circa 40s-50s, not really sure. I've never seen another, have you?

Yes I have -- lots of different brands made these large bottles back in the day. Here is Canada we used to refer to them as * Texas Mickey * ( LOL as a Joke ). I had a couple of the Canadian Club Rye Whisky big bottles like this:

HERE is another one like yours on Ebay ( scroll down some) and it has the pump on it. There are lots of these around as people still have them and use them to put change in now:

Also here are quite a few more listed:

Well I'm sorry but you're mistaken. Those are all 1 gallon bottles, standing around 18" high. Whereas, mine is 28 1/4" high.

      Also it's five(5) gallons.

Oh Sorry -- Guess I should have read the title better. My mistake.

What are the marks on the bottom then?
    5. Donalds60, 8 years ago
Hello antiquerose, I,m not sure as to what you're reffering to.

On the bottom of the bottle -- there should be marks on it? Some sort of marks on it -- can you post them here?

Look at the bottom of your bottle and take a pic something like this on an angle to show the marks on yours:

Well the owner did tell me his family got it from a bar to add to his collection. Any idea where I could find more information about this oddity?

I inherited two of these 5 gallon bottles, unopened and each with a tap. Each are 5 gallons (not 1 gallon) that have just been sitting around collecting dust since probably the late 70s/early80s. Is there any collector value to them or should I just open them up and enjoy?

Hello Fivegallon, I'm not a collector so I can't answer your question but a quick look shows it would probably be at least several hundred and probably more for someone who prefers that brand. I would be interested simply for the reason I have never seen a bottle that big until I saw this post. I'm actually in the market for some vintage Old Charter Bourbon.

I have a giant glass bootle which looks like 7 gallons. Seagrams Ancient bottle distilled Gry Gin Very decorative glass. Has to be 50 years old or more.
