I don't know why, but I just loved this plate. Looking at it from a distance, though, it didn't look that old-- the design looked like something more modern and done by hand, as if in a ceramics class.
Upon picking it up, I noticed how the glaze looked quite old and that it was done by hand. I also noticed the crack, but I noticed it was an old crack from many years ago. Then I noticed the Flow Blue and older number mark on it. That and where it is clear it was stilted told me the piece may be quite old.
The plate is obviously not a modern piece as it had at first looked, but how old is it, where did it come from, who did it come from, and what is the design?
Yep. it's a lusterware flow blue plate. I found a smaller one:

Here's a child's mug - later date, slightly different name:

Gorgeous!! Save it for the 4th of July
Thanks so much, Efesgirl!
Trey, I agree. LOL.
Jean, I wish. Sadly that crack concerns me.
Wow, have never seen a plate quite like that, amazing! I am right there with you as far as those creepy barbies Spirit. Kind of made my stomach turn.
MeliG, I wish I had a whole set of these plates-- and saucers, and pitcher, and anything else it came in. LOL.
