    This is a very neat item; can't find its origin. I picked it up at a Thrift store yesterday and it is carved wood. I'm thinking it looks like a Polynesian tool but my search online is not bringing up anything which looks like it. Please help.

      Yes it is blunderbuss2; it's shaped like an egg and moves about in there. Very cool carving.

      This is really pretty - can't imagine it being used a spear. I'm curious now. I also didn't find anything online. Perhaps if you made a photo of this against a white background with this at a horizontal angle, something might turn up in an Image search.

      It's an art of carving this out of 1 piece of wood with the carved ball lose in it. That end is shaped like a handle, so I'm going to venture a guess at meat tenderizer.

      I think they steam the wood and drop the ball in ....lol and I think its a fork for eating ..
