I purchased this from a friend who bought it in New Mexico.
Unfortunately I got no information as to history, etc.
Would love any identification and/or information on the item. It is extremely heavy and unsigned, unmarked.
    Thank you.

This is gorgeous! The design is definitely Native American. Thunderbird on one side and a swastika on the other side.

The unfortunate thing is that it's not marked or signed anywhere, so tracking down info on it is pretty much impossible.

      https://www.cabq.gov/culturalservices/kimo/about-the-theatre/kimohistory/swastikas

""The swastika was a widely used Native American symbol. It was used by many southwestern tribes, most notably the Navajo. Among different tribes the swastika carried various meanings. To the Hopi it represented the wandering Hopi clans; to the Navajo it represented a whirling log ( tsil no'oli' ), a sacred image representing a legend that was used in healing rituals."

Thank you for the comments. With any luck I can track it down, probably Navajo.
