This cup has been in my memories going on 45 years. My father passed in 1997 and all the family treasures were distributed. I have never been able to get the story behind the piece and have not been able to find any information about it on the internet. I have searched the makers mark with no luck. I would like to pass it on "with" some history to go with it. I have traced part of the family back to the Civil War with photos.
It measures 3 3/4" tall, the silver rim is 3 3/8" across, and weighs 1 lb 5 oz.

What a lovely thing!! Are the maker's initials ABL? AFBL? I can't quite read it.
