An interesting Loetz Shell Vase of an unknown decor. This is only the 3rd one of these that I've seen and all 3 are different shapes and sizes. The Candia ground is covered with spatters of candia, green and red glass almost resembling confetti with a crackle finish. The base is clear glass.
It measures 8.5" from tip to tip (7.5" horizontally). 5.25" tall. At this time, the PN and decor is unknown. However, the shape is very similar to PN II-2/508 circa 1902, but the Loetz Series II book lists the color for this shape as "Muscheln Rosa Silber Craquelé" (Seashell Pink Silver Crackle) which my vase is not.
Although mysterious, it's an interesting addition to my Loetz Shell Vase collection and I look forward to researching the shape and decor more extensively.
Another exquisite piece of Loetz. Shell seeking success!
wow... just lovely...
Thank you, All!
