I just purchased this from a man who in Chinese. He has had it for years and believes it is old, but not sure how old. I don't know the type of wood, but it is a beautiful piece. Anyone have any ideas about age, representation, culture, wood type or where it was made. It TV stands about 15 inches tall.

Some peeps here say don't post phone pictures to computer, use 'real' camera shots, and there are other people who will not look at upside down pics, Don't know how they feel about sidewise.

For myself I can't look at it, because it really hurts my neck. So, can you post some thing than is right side up please? There is also quite a bit of glare.

The other thing is, it is difficult to see the item when it's on a zebra rug with a lot going on behind it.

What makes you think it is an antique? Are there any markings, or a signature, Chinese characters on it?

I used my tablet Sorry they posted sideways. I will try to change the photo so it posts correctly. Thank you for your input. Appreciate it.

I just bought it from a guy early this week. He described it as "old" and he has had it a long time. It came from his parents, who are also chinese. I think it is symbolic of the Chinese New Year, the year of the "tiger", but that is my first guess. I buy "asian decor" and not as an investment, so I have no clue the age, origins, representation, etc. I just like the way it looks.

There are no markings, etchings, etc. It's made of wood. One solid piece.
