Hello everyone.
I love this.....had been after one for some time and finally one came up locally to me a couple of years ago for the princely sum of $20.00.
Hot water was poured into the hole on the one side and left there to warm the plate thereby keeping the food on it warm as well. There would have been a matching stopper for the water hole originally....
It is a hefty piece weighing 1025gm (2.26 lbs) approx. Top diameter is 10 inches and the height is 2 inches.
I have dated this between 1833 and 1847.....please do let me know if this is not correct...... I don't bite LOL!
