This is a very nice, heavy bronze vase circa 1910 or so. With a slightly flared base and lip, the sides sculpted overall in relief with leaves, vines and pinecones and set with a finely modeled putti blowing a small trumpet. Inscribed on side "J. Pfeffer" and base with foundry mark and stamped number 8956.
I used to have a rare statue vase in spelter by H & L Moreau, which I sold and of course regretted. It is hard to vision when you buy something how you will regret selling. It seems to bother me now more than it ever did. All pictures are owned by myself.
Know what you mean by "regret selling....... now more than it ever did" Some knives..... not terribly expensive ones, either..... hard to come by again now. LOVE the cute little putto and her trumpet! [;>)

Hi Phil. What a wonderful piece! How awful to really regret selling something :( It must be hard to know what to sell. I've sold and missed a few things but not that scale, only I now have shelves bursting with 'stuff'. Somethings got to give.
Thanks pops52, I thought the same when I got it.
Thank you Vintagefran for the nice thought !~
