If you go to the web site you will find that Agriculture and Commerce was the motto for Memphis Tenn. The current Badge has an Enameled center so I would think that this is out dated.........

Hi. No idea if anyone will see this post but here goes.

The 2 badges in the pics are not current, but they are not obsolete yet either.

The badges have the same basic shape and design as the current duty badges used by Memphis PD.

To an average citizen, these would pass for current article badges, especially under low lighting or if displayed correctly on a uniform.

These are badges that were used prior to 1969 when the City adopted it's current squarish city seal and began using that on badges as opposed to the state seal.

The hat badge and the wording "agriculture and commerce" are derived from our state seal's motto. The hat badge was a state specific semi custom badge used in the 1950s and 60s.

      Hope that helps...

Thanks! I'm scrounging for 1930s Nashville badges and stumbled across this... got a zero notice call for them and no time to wood carve from photos... gotta find the real steel. You guys have a great site! Have a great day!

These are so awesome! I believe they are from the 60's or 70's. Do you still have them?
