I am not certain when these were stylish. I do know they hurt your toes. I tried dressing up a pair of plain pumps and they were not comfortable! But they are pretty and I guess they were the precursor to the bows and other additions we put on our shoes now!
Pretty to look at, but horrible for your feet. Amazing to me that women used to suffer so much in the name of fashion.
Thanks for the comment Efesgirl. Yes, shoes with clips and crazy high heels! I wore some scary heels on my wedding day. The ground was covered in ice. I'm lucky I didn't fall off those things,
