Appears English. "HM --". His/Hers Own (?) Navy. Eng. military buttons are an easy search when you can read the maker's name. This is where you take over.

Hmm yep...that's obvious I would say with the crown & HMQN but I cannot find any info on HMQN & maybe it is not a button as such....maybe it came from some other piece of clothing...cheers.

Didn't look like a dinkle berry, so I guessed at a button. LOL !!

The reference I found for HMQN is "Her Majesty Queen Noor"........... see if there is a ship called this and perhaps the button is from a uniform from it......

Try researching via the maker's name.

I'm not sure it is from an Arabic Navy Tassiedevil, because of the crown and the intitials HMQ...N but I did look that up & found no mention of a ship or navy...I'm thinking the N stands for Navy somehow, but nothing comes up yet...cheers

Queen's crown in the button means late Victorian, because the crown changed after her death.

      Hi,
This a button from the Colonial Queensland Navy from around 1886 to 1902.
It reads Her Majesty's Queensland Navy.
They come in four sizes, as for a greatcoat to the side buttons of officer's caps and mess jackets.
If you wish to part with it, let me know.
      A nice find!
