Sorry about the glare here, not my best lot of photos.

I hope you can still see the nice swirl of colours in this vase and the overlaid gold sheets.

This type of decor was very popular in Japan in about the 60s and most glass houses made a version of it. This one is relatively simple in shape but the most surprising thing for me is how thin walled it is.
For the time and style this type of vase was generally very heavily clear cased but here it is actually quite thin.

The other interesting thing is that this vase is also stickered Kamei.
So, is it Hokuyo or Kamei? I think it is a Hokuyo make but wholesaled by Kamei and helps support a theory I have about much Kamei glass.
That theory is nascent so I won't bore you with it until I have more proof.

Of course, I'm of no help on id :-) but as usual love colors and shape!
You may help to solve a mystery there:

What a beautiful vase.....positively awash with amazing effects!

The glossier the glass the harder it gets re photography and we all experience the dissatisfaction with our efforts.

Wow, now I see the similarity to Murano! Now you've done it. I will be studying Japanese made Art Glass now. I might even have some and not know it......

Dean has lots of great Murano amongst his other glass.......... he's even ventured into some Japanese after my brainwashing. Aint that so Deano!!
