This is a nearly new condition Coca Cola cooler that was given to my father. I don't believe it has ever been used. It has been stored since he got it. The white handle is plastic. The red covering has a leather look finish, and may be vinyl. The gray inside lining seems to be plastic. The latches and fold down handles are metal. There is a white rubber seal around the lid.
The dimensions of the box itself are: 16 1/2 " long, 11 3/4 " wide, 14 " high. It has a metal Coca Cola opener on the side. There are no marks, scratches, or dings on the cooler. I believe it is from the 1960's or possible the 1950's.
Can anyone help me date this piece and give me a range of value?
Thanks
Awesome.
Thanks Ray. I am looking for the box. I can't remember what happened to it.
How much do you think it would ad to the value if I had the box?
Ray, Thanks.
By the way, have you ever seen a Coca-Cola cardboard Santa Claus, almost lifesize ? I have one that is not in great shape, but I remember it being next to our tree at Xmas in the early 50's.
I have that exact same cooler. I found it beside a dumpster behind where I work. It is no where near as good a shape as yours. It is sun bleached white. It looks rough but I love it just the same.
I have searched to find something about this cooler. Thank you for listing it, now I know more about mine. It was my Grandfathers cooler.
Re: your Coca Cola cooler, I have a cooler that looks just like yours, but mine has a shallow tray that fits inside, under the lid. I cannot find any manufaturers name other than what is on the bottle opener. Does your have any markings as to who made it?
It's a Royal Mieco picnic cooler. It should have a shallow tray inside with metal banding.
