Eight years ago I went backpacking in Peru and Bolivia for two months. Among others I bought some jewellery, like this necklace and brooch-pendant. The brooch is sterling silver with a Peruvian opal - at least this was said to me. This stone shouldn't be confused with a 'normal' opal. It is a country national stone and it can't be found anywhere else. In recent years dyed stones have been mass marketed as Peruvian blue opal - these are very common and sell cheap. Mine might be one of those. By the way the pendant is in the style of the old Incas, depicting the Sun god, Inti.
The necklace is base metal and decorated with a serpentine cabochon. It was bought from a street seller while the pendant from a shop.
Both are really pretty!

Lucky adventurous lady. I love this story. Very nice. :)
Thank you OGF! Yes, that time (only eight years ago) I was adventurous. I would go again, but not alone! That time I went alone.
The stories as good as the jewellery. What an adventure!
